Alcohol Stoves

Backpacking light and cheap.  Make preparation an adventure and show the boys that you don't have to buy and own all the fancy gadgets. 

Make a simple backpacking stove.  Great projects for metalworking merit badge.  Boys (and grown boys) like to make stuff out of common household items.

Its even better when it is FIRE!
